Shortly after my birth in Poplar Bluff, Missouri, I traveled with my parents for my dad's job with Stromberg Carleson. This experience allowed me to see different parts of the country. However, my parents realized that a more traditional setting was important as I began my school career, and they selected the quaint town of Grandin, Missouri. My childhood memories are filled with adventures of traipsing through the woods and watching deer graze in my yard. I graduated from East Carter County R-II and continued my education at Arkansas State University. Not only did I obtain my degree from ASU, but I also met my husband, Mike. We have two great children, Sara and Cooper.
I started teaching at Hoxie in 1995. I teach English 9, Pre AP English 9, oral communications, and drama. I love teaching high school students. My love of books, writing, and communication are expressed every day as I teach my students. I hope to instill the same love for these activites in my students.
