I am a proud, life-long resident of Lawrence County.  I attended Walnut Ridge Public Schools, kindergarten through my senior year, graduating in 1994.  I received a BSE in Elementary Education at Williams Baptist College in 2001.

My first teaching assignment landed me in Lynn, Arkansas where I taught fifth grade half a day and gifted and talented (K-12) the other half of the day.  I worked this particular job for three years.  After my first year at Lynn I began pursuing my MSE in Gifted and Talented Education at ASU in Jonesboro, graduating in 2004.  Lynn consolidated with River Valley School District that same year becoming Hillcrest School District where I continued to teach literacy for the next seven years to fifth and sixth grade students.

I am currently beginning my seventh year teaching as a Hoxie Mustang.  I love reading and learning right along with my kiddos.  When I'm not in my home away from home (my classroom), I enjoy watching my daughter play volleyball, softball, and cheer.

The more that you read, the more things you will know. The more that you learn, the more places you'll go.
