My name is Teresa Ryan. I have been working at Hoxie Elementary for 30 years. I attended Hoxie Public School from 1st -12th grade. I graduated in 1981. I attended college at Arkansas State University and graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Education in 1985.
I began working at Hoxie school during the 1987-1988 school year as an instructional assistant in the high school. I had the great pleasure of beginning my teaching career with my own classroom during the 1988-1989 school year. That first year and the following I taught a second grade/third grade split class. I love my second graders, they have keep my life interesting for 30 years!
My goal for my classroom is to create a learning environment in which every child feels safe to speak out and be their best without any fear of teasing, or ridicule. My classroom routine is very structured. I set high expectations for every student in my class. I want parents to feel free to send me a note or email at any time if they have questions, concerns, or good news to share. I want to hear the good things that are happening in your child's life outside of school too.
My classroom expectations for my students are simple. I expect each one to be respectful to each other, and to try their best. I want them to understand that we are all different, and what is easy for one might be difficult for another. We will be supportive of each other and give encouragement.
